SuprNotes for Zoom — Integration Guide

SuprNotes turns recorded lectures, lessons, and meetings into structured notes and AI-generated study materials. The Zoom integration lets you import your Zoom Cloud Recordings directly into SuprNotes instead of downloading and re-uploading them by hand.

This guide covers adding the app, using every feature, removing the app, troubleshooting, and how to reach support.

What the integration does

Once connected, SuprNotes can:

  • List your Zoom cloud recordings — topic, date, duration, and file size.
  • Import a selected recording (video or audio-only) into a SuprNotes session or your Files library.
  • Transcribe the recording and generate notes, quizzes, flashcards, and revision guides from it.

SuprNotes reads your cloud recordings only. It does not join meetings, does not record on your behalf, does not post or send messages, and does not modify or delete anything in your Zoom account.

Zoom data SuprNotes accesses

DataWhy it's needed
Your Zoom user profile (name, email, account id)Identify the connected account and match it to your SuprNotes user
Cloud recording list (topic, start time, duration, size, file type)Show you which recordings are available to import
Cloud recording media file (the selected recording only)Download the recording you chose so it can be transcribed

Only the recording you explicitly select is downloaded. SuprNotes never bulk-downloads your recording library.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure you have:

  1. A SuprNotes account. Sign up free at suprnotes.ai/signup.
  2. A Zoom account with cloud recording enabled. Cloud recording requires a licensed (paid) Zoom plan. Local recordings saved to your computer are not visible to the integration — upload those as regular files instead.
  3. At least one cloud recording already processed by Zoom. Recordings still being processed by Zoom will not appear in the list.
  4. Permission to connect apps. If your Zoom account is managed by an organization, an administrator may need to pre-approve SuprNotes in the Zoom App Marketplace before you can add it.

Adding the App

You can add SuprNotes for Zoom from either the Zoom App Marketplace or from inside SuprNotes. Both routes complete the same authorization.

  1. Log in to suprnotes.ai.
  2. Go to your Dashboard and start a new note, or open the Files tab.
  3. Click Add sources (or Upload) to open the source picker.
  4. Choose Zoom from the list of sources.
  5. Click Connect Zoom. A Zoom sign-in window opens.
  6. Sign in to Zoom if prompted, review the requested permissions, and click Allow.
  7. The window closes and SuprNotes confirms "Connected to Zoom." Your cloud recordings load automatically.

Option B — From the Zoom App Marketplace

  1. Sign in to the Zoom App Marketplace.
  2. Search for SuprNotes.
  3. Open the app listing and click Add.
  4. Review the requested permissions and click Allow to authorize.
  5. You are redirected to SuprNotes. Log in (or create an account) to finish linking.

Note: The authorization opens in a pop-up window. If nothing happens when you click Connect Zoom, your browser has most likely blocked the pop-up — see Troubleshooting.

If you get stuck at any step, see the Troubleshooting section below or contact support.

Usage

Importing a Zoom cloud recording

Prerequisite: Zoom connected (see Adding the App), and at least one processed cloud recording.

  1. In SuprNotes, open the source picker and select Zoom.
  2. Your cloud recordings appear, newest first, each showing the meeting topic, date, duration, and size. Click Load more to page through older recordings, or Refresh to re-fetch the list.
  3. Click the recording you want to import. SuprNotes checks whether the recording can be imported and loads a preview.
  4. If a preview is available, the recording plays inline. If Zoom does not provide a playable stream, you'll see "Preview unavailable — recording will be processed on the server" along with a Watch on Zoom link. The import still works normally.
  5. Tick the copyright confirmation checkbox to confirm you have the right to use the recording.
  6. Click Add File.

The recording is queued immediately and the dialog closes — you don't need to keep the tab open. When processing finishes, the file appears in your session or Files library, transcribed and ready.

Use case: You recorded a 45-minute lecture to the Zoom cloud. Import it into SuprNotes and generate a summary, a set of flashcards, and a practice quiz from it in one pass.

Trimming a recording before import

Prerequisite: A recording selected in the Zoom picker.

Long recordings are often mostly setup and small talk. Before clicking Add File, you can select just the parts you want:

  • Drag the handles on the timeline to set a start and end point.
  • Click Split at playhead to cut the selection into multiple segments and keep several separate parts (for example, two topics from one long class).
  • Type exact timestamps in the segment list for precise boundaries.

Limits: A maximum of 60 minutes of kept footage per import, with a minimum of 1 minute. If a recording is longer than 60 minutes, SuprNotes shows "Recording exceeds 60min — Select a range" and you must choose a range before importing. To process a longer recording, import it as two or more separate trimmed selections.

Use case: A 90-minute seminar contains one 20-minute segment relevant to your exam. Trim to that segment and import only what you need.

Generating notes and study materials

Prerequisite: An imported recording that has finished transcribing.

Once the recording is transcribed, it behaves exactly like any other SuprNotes source:

  • Notes — a structured, editable summary of the recording.
  • Quizzes — practice questions generated from the content.
  • Flashcards — recall prompts for revision.
  • Revision guides — condensed study material for exam preparation.
  • AI chat — ask questions about the content of the recording.

You can combine a Zoom recording with other sources (PDFs, slides, other recordings) in the same note.

Importing to your Files library

Prerequisite: Zoom connected.

Open the Files tab and use Zoom as the source to import a recording as a standalone library file rather than attaching it to a specific note. Library files can be reused across multiple notes later.

Removing the App

Removing the app revokes SuprNotes' access to your Zoom account.

Steps

  1. Log in to your Zoom account and navigate to the Zoom App Marketplace.
  2. Click Manage >> Added Apps, or search for the SuprNotes app.
  3. Select the SuprNotes app.
  4. Click Remove.

You can also disconnect from within SuprNotes by contacting support if you no longer have access to the Zoom account.

What happens when you remove the app

  • Zoom access stops immediately. SuprNotes can no longer list or import your cloud recordings. Your stored Zoom authorization tokens are deleted.
  • Your Zoom recordings are untouched. Removal does not delete, alter, or move anything in your Zoom account. Your cloud recordings remain in Zoom exactly as they were.
  • Recordings you already imported stay in SuprNotes. Files, transcripts, notes, quizzes, flashcards, and revision guides you generated before removal remain in your SuprNotes account so you don't lose your work.
  • Importing stops working. Selecting Zoom as a source will prompt you to connect again. Re-adding the app restores access; it does not automatically re-import anything.

Deleting your imported data

Removing the Zoom app does not delete content already in SuprNotes. To remove that too:

  • Delete individual files or notes from your SuprNotes Files tab or Library.
  • To delete your SuprNotes account and all associated data, contact support@onescreensolutions.com.

Data handling is described in full in our Privacy Policy.

Troubleshooting

Nothing happens when I click "Connect Zoom"

The authorization window is a browser pop-up and was almost certainly blocked. Allow pop-ups for suprnotes.ai in your browser's address-bar icon or site settings, then click Connect Zoom again.

"Zoom sign-in timed out"

The authorization window stayed open for too long (90 seconds) without completing. Close it and try again. If you use two-factor authentication, have your device ready before starting so the sign-in completes promptly.

"No cloud recordings found"

This usually means one of the following:

  • The recording was saved locally to your computer rather than to the Zoom cloud. Local recordings aren't accessible through the Zoom API — upload the file directly to SuprNotes instead.
  • Zoom is still processing the recording. Cloud recordings can take a while to become available after a meeting ends; wait and click Refresh.
  • You signed in with a different Zoom account than the one that owns the recordings.
  • Your Zoom plan does not include cloud recording (it requires a licensed plan).

"Can't import this recording"

SuprNotes checks each recording before importing and shows the specific reason. Common causes are an unsupported file type, a recording that Zoom has not finished processing, or a file that exceeds the size limit. If the recording is passcode-protected, use the Watch on Zoom link to confirm it plays, then retry.

The recording is longer than 60 minutes

Use the trim controls to select up to 60 minutes of content, or import the recording in multiple trimmed parts. See Trimming a recording before import.

Preview doesn't play, but I can still import

Zoom doesn't always provide a directly playable stream (this is common for passcode-protected recordings). This does not block the import — the recording is downloaded and processed on our servers. Use Watch on Zoom if you need to review the content first.

The import failed after I clicked "Add File"

Open the file tile in SuprNotes to see the error. Click Refresh in the Zoom picker and try again — a Zoom session that expired mid-import is the usual cause, and reconnecting resolves it. If it persists, contact support with the meeting topic and date.

I can't add the app at all

If your Zoom account is managed by an organization, your administrator may need to approve SuprNotes before you can add it. Ask your Zoom admin to pre-approve the app in the Zoom App Marketplace.

FAQ

Does SuprNotes join or record my meetings? No. SuprNotes never joins meetings and never records anything. It only imports recordings that Zoom has already saved to your cloud account, and only the ones you explicitly select.

Which permissions does SuprNotes request? Read-only access to your Zoom user profile and your cloud recordings. SuprNotes cannot create, modify, or delete Zoom meetings, recordings, or account settings.

Are my recordings shared with anyone? No. Imported recordings and their transcripts are private to your SuprNotes account unless you explicitly share a note. See our Privacy Policy.

Do I need a paid Zoom plan? Cloud recording is a licensed Zoom feature, so you need a plan that includes it. SuprNotes cannot access local recordings — but you can always upload those to SuprNotes as ordinary files.

Can I import a recording from someone else's meeting? Only if the recording is in your own Zoom account's cloud recordings. You must also confirm you have the right to use the content, which is why the copyright checkbox is required before every import.

Why is there a 60-minute limit? It keeps transcription fast and accurate. Longer recordings can be imported as multiple trimmed selections.

How long does an import take? Queuing is instant and you can close the dialog. Processing time depends on the recording's length — typically a few minutes. You'll see the file update automatically when it's ready.

Do I have to reconnect every time? No. Your connection persists until you remove the app in Zoom or the authorization expires. If it expires, you'll be prompted to reconnect.

How do I stop receiving emails from SuprNotes? Use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any SuprNotes email, or adjust notification preferences in your account settings.
